State FM Vasantha Senanayake Meet With Indonesian FM

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Vasantha Senanayake  met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia Mdm Retno Marsudi  on Thursday(7 Dec 2017) with a view to explore ways and means of further intensifying the relations between the two countries particularly following the historic State visit of President Maithripala Sirisena earlier this year and the visit of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in 2016.

The discussions held on the sidelines of the Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) in Indonesia this week considered measures to sustain the momentum generated through  the recent highest political level interactions and agreed to take steps on enhancing bilateral trade and investment, promoting tourism based on longstanding historical ties, twinning cities, aviation, support for Sri Lankas desire for closer engagement with ASEAN. The two Ministers also acknowledged the good cooperation which exists between the two countries within the United Nations system including on candidatures.

The two countries will also work together to sustain the momentum for exchange of visits at all levels.
