The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta is pleased to inform the Sri Lankan community and other interested parties that the Embassy now serves as a branch of the Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo for attesting certificates/documents as true and genuine on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka. Documents issued under statutory authorities and signed by duly authorized officers appointed by the Government of Sri Lanka may now be attested by the Embassy.
Documents submitted will be attested only after verifying their authenticity and credibility. This service facilitates Sri Lankans living in Indonesia to get their documents attested by the Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs without traveling to Sri Lanka.
The Embassy accepts documents from applicants on behalf of the Verification Section of the Consular Affairs Division and uploads them to the system. Once the documents are attested by the Consular Affairs Division, a customer copy will be generated and can be issued to the applicant.
General Guidelines:
- Those submitting documents for attestation should present a valid passport issued by the Department of Immigration and Emigration (DIE) of Sri Lanka. Foreign applicants must present a valid passport issued by the authorized agency of their own country
- The document owner is expected to submit documents to the Embassy in person. If the document owner is unable to be present, a close relative may submit the documents with a letter of authorization from the owner, indicating their consent.
- Fees are payable in cash.
