Undergraduates of Universitas Budi Luhur (UBL), Indonesia visited the Sri Lanka Embassy in Jakarta on 10th May 2023 as a study tour to gain information on Sri Lanka and the functions of the Embassy.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia, H.E. Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage during his presentation highlighted socio-economical information on Sri Lanka, the historical and present relationship between Indonesia and Sri Lanka including cultural similarities, Sri Lanka’s participation in the first Bandung Conference organized by Indonesia, Sri Lanka’s foreign policy and the functions of the Embassy.
Mr. Migara Amithodhana, Co-Founder/CEO of Magicbits (Pvt) Ltd shared information on their STEM educational product “Magicbit”. The UBL undergraduates were able to experience Sri Lankan Avurudu Games including “Placing the Eye on the Elephant”, “Lime on a spoon race”, etc., The undergraduates were very enthusiastic to learn about Sri Lanka and experience the culture.
A team from UBL will visit Sri Lanka in the near future to have ties with Sri Lankan Universities.
