H.E. Admiral Professor Jayanath Colombage, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia met Kevin Wu, Indonesia’s businessman and an official from Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a reputed application developer on tourism at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta on 16 June 2023. The meeting discussed about cooperation in trade, tourism and investments between Sri Lanka and Indonesia which were mutually beneficial.
The Ambassador discussed the possible avenues to promote Sri Lankan Tourism for Indonesian citizens, especially Sri Lanka as a Buddhist Tourists Destination and a place for precious gems and products. The Ambassador explained the favorable situation prevailing in the country for the economic progress. Further, the ambassador explained to Mr. Kevin and his team about the famous Buddhist tourist destinations in the country and other places of interest to visit including Historical sites, beaches, and places for shopping and popular Sri Lanka cuisines.
