
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta welcomed the visiting delegation of the National Defence College (NDC) of Sri Lanka on Friday, 29 May 2026, as part of the International Collaborative Study Programme (ICSP) of NDC Course No. 05 currently conducted in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The delegation, comprising senior officers both local and foreign and faculty members of the National Defence College, visited the Embassy during their overseas study programme in Indonesia. Ambassador-designate Sashikala Premawardhane delivered welcome remarks and exchanged views with the delegation on the evolving bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Indonesia, particularly in the areas of defence cooperation, strategic engagement, and regional collaboration.
During the interaction, the delegation was briefed by the Minister Counsellor (Defence) of the Embassy on the expanding defence partnership between Sri Lanka and Indonesia, including military training exchanges, defence diplomacy initiatives, institutional cooperation, and recent high-level engagements between the defence establishments and armed forces of the two countries.
The visit also provided an opportunity for discussions on regional security dynamics and avenues for further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
The NDC delegation is undertaking a 10-day International Collaborative Study Programme visit to Indonesia from 27 May to 05 June 2026, with engagements scheduled at several Indonesian government, defence, academic, and regional institutions, including the ASEAN Secretariat, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and strategic think tanks.
