President’s Fund Social Services

The primary objective of this programme, to be implemented by the President’s Fund, is to provide financial support to ensure the continuous education of children in Sri Lanka when their migrant worker parents encounter sudden emergencies abroad (including death, accidents, imprisonment, or disappearance). Children of Migrant workers who encounter such emergencies on or after January 01, 2025 are eligible to apply for this programme.

LankaKonect

Developed through a collaborative partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE), with technical support from Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the “LankaKonect” Mobile Application provides migrant workers with a centralized and user-friendly digital platform to submit complaints and requests for assistance, monitor the progress of their cases, and access essential information and support services, regardless of their country of employment.
