Association of Sri Lankans Living in Indonesia (ASLI) donated much needed sports items and office equipment including a photo copier and projector to Dharmaraja Vidyalaya Trincomalee in Sri Lanka. This act of generosity was coordinated under the guidance of HE the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Indonesia Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage. This school lack even basic facilities and this donation will certainly uplift the standard of education and allow the children to develop their sporting skills
The items were ceremonially taken over by the school on 24 March 2024. The event was attended by the Trincomalee Gnanakiththi thero and the principal of the school Mr Udayasiri Baduge and children of the school. They were very appreciative about the charitable gesture by Association of Sri Lankans in Indonesia.
This was the first time that ASLI has embarked on such a welfare mission and they pledged to continue help supporting the schools in need of assistance to improve the quality of education of Sri Lanka.
