Sri Lanka Navy’s Offshore Patrol Vessel SLNS Sagara which left last month for Indonesia from the port of Trincomalee to attend the Multilateral Naval Exercise (MNEX) Komodo and International Fleet Review (IFR) 2018 returned to port of Colombo Friday on 18th May   after successfully completing the exercise.

Upon arrival, the Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain Janaka Nissanka and Commander Janaka Samaranayake held a discussion on the nature of exercises undertaken during the tour and their progress.

The 192- member crew of Sagara including 20 officers and 4 midshipmen participated in MNEK 2018.

This training exercise took place from 4th to 9th May at Lombok Island in Indonesia and training sessions on Aviation Technology, Maritime Exhibitions, Community Engineering projects, Community Medical Projects and Field Programs were conducted there.
