The Association of Sri Lankans Living in Indonesia (ASLI) in Collaboration with the Embassy of
Sri Lanka in Jakarta organized one of the largest gatherings of Sri Lankans in recent history for
‘Sri Lankan Night 2023’ on 25 November 2023 at Le Meridien Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia. Sri
Lankan Band ‘Lunu Dehi’ was invited to the function to entertain the gathering.


The event was attended by a large number of Sri Lankans Living in Indonesia. H.E. the
Ambassador Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage highlighted the importance of unity and being
together as Sri Lankans. He appreciated the commitment of the overwhelming Sri Lankan
community in Indonesia for being present at the event coming from various parts and islands of
the archipelago to attend ‘Sri Lanka Night 2023’.


This was an opportunity for Sri Lankans Living in Indonesia to meet one another as this kind of
gathering has been organized for the first time after the Covid-19 pandemic. Everyone present
expressed their utmost gratitude to ASLI and the Embassy for organizing such events to
strengthen the unity of Sri Lankans.
