APPLICATION FOR NEW PASSPORT

GENERAL

Originals of the below-listed documents, together with 2 sets of photocopies should be submitted with the application (originals will be returned after due verification)

ELIGIBILITY

Sri Lankan Nationals living in Indonesia

Requirements

  1. Duly filled passport application, please download here.
  2. Current Passport with valid Residence Permit
  3. Four passport-size (4.5cm x 3.5cm) color photographs should be clear, good quality, fresh (current picture) without spectacles and with open ears, with white background/light color.
  4. Original birth certificate (translations are not accepted)
  5. If the applicant was born outside of Sri Lanka, the Citizenship Certificate
  6. If the applicant is a citizen by registration, the Citizenship Certificate
  7. National ID card along with a photocopy
  8. If the applicant is under 16 years of age, a consent letter from the parents must be submitted along with their original passports and the marriage certificate.
  9. Application fee – IDR 2,230,000

Processing Time: 8 to 10 weeks

Note:  Applicant should submit the application along with previous N/M series passport by him/herself

Note:
Biometric Enrolments of Passports Issued by the Embassy: Passports obtained from the Sri Lanka Embassy in Jakarta must be submitted to the Head Office of the Department of Immigration and Emigration in Battaramulla or to one of the regional branches in Kandy, Matara, Vanuniya, or Kurunegala for biometric registration during your first visit to Sri Lanka with the new passport. You will not be allowed to depart from Sri Lanka if the biometrics have not been registered, This facility is not available at airports in Sri Lanka. The biometric registration process, which takes only 30-45 minutes, can be completed without prior appointments.  

LOST/MISSING PASSPORTS

The information below is for the charges for the issuance of Sri Lankan Travel Documents under the circumstance in which the original travel documents went missing:

  • Lost with a copy – US$ 373/IDR 5,260,000
  • Lost without a copy – US$ 473/IDR 6,670,000
  • Non-machine readable Passport (NMRP) – US$ 54/IDR 765,000
  • Endorsement/Amendments (per amendment) – US$ 169/IDR 2,370,000
